Massage Therapy in Huntington Beach
Massage therapy is an excellent adjunct to both chiropractic care and post-workout recovery. At Health Pro Wellness Center, we have a team of massage therapists who are trained and certified in a number of soft tissue techniques.
Our Massage Techniques
Each of our therapists offers their own range of techniques. Some of our most popular include:
- Trigger Point Release: Your therapist will locate and release trigger points, which are knots that can form in your muscles and fascia.
- Soft Tissue: This is a full body technique that addresses the muscles, tendons, skin and fibrous tissues of the body to loosen muscles and restore flexibility and mobility.
- Active Release Technique® (ART®): This technique breaks up scar tissue and reduces inflammation and can help heal soft tissue damage.
Myofascial Release: This manual technique relieves tension in the fascia, the fibrous tissues that surround muscles and connect them to the spine. - Cupping: Uses heated cups to create suction, which may help reduce pain and inflammation in the area.
- Hot Stone: Heated stones are placed on areas of tension to ease pain and promote relaxation.
What Are Some Benefits?
While massage is often considered to be a relaxing therapy that you’d experience at the spa, it has clinical benefits as well.
In addition to restoring flexibility and mobility, most massage techniques are great for helping to reduce pain in the soft tissues, whether caused by stress or injury. Massage has also been shown to reduce the anxiety people feel when they have been injured or are struggling with a chronic condition or pain. Some of the other benefits include:
- Increases circulation
- Enhances sleep
- Improves alertness
- Boosts the “happiness” chemicals in the brain
- Supports lymphatic drainage
- Improves immune function
A Complement to Chiropractic
We offer Advanced Biostructural Correction chiropractic adjustments, which are aimed at restoring proper posture.
Soft tissue work can be a powerful addition to your overall care, in that it helps your muscles, tendons and ligaments heal and work as they should, so they can properly support your spine’s optimal posture.
